“So you sent in an investigator,” she said.

“Yes.”

“When? Exactly.”

“Two weeks and two days ago, exactly.”

“And now he’s missing, too.”

“Yes.”

“And you don’t think both of them could have stumbled into a snowdrift.”

“No. Not when the investigator went in specifically to look for the ranger.”

“Maybe it was the same snowdrift.”
