Barbara Peters of the Poisoned Pen Bookstore calls this kind of book a “palate cleanser,” something you read between crime fiction novels whose villains keep you up nights. No villains here, just a sweet summer tale of love and loss and new love found, not only romantic but of home and community, of friendship, of risk and reward, of a life not just lived but lived well. I slept like a baby after reading it, and I will always love the idea of the littlest library and of books as a redeeming force.
