Liam squinted at her through his one good eye.  “You didn’t say Donohoe had somebody with him.”

“He didn’t.”

Liam sighed and shifted carefully in a tentative attempt to sit upright.  His head didn’t fall off so he was more patient than he might have been.  “Look, Prince, you’ve obviously discovered some new evidence that you think is important, and any other time I’d be willing to let you lead me to it a piece at a time, but I’ve just been sucker-punched by an unknown assailant, I’m sitting here with a lump on my head the size of Denali, I’ve just lost my breakfast and most of last night’s dinner, I can only see out of one eye and NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GET CUTE!”
