Liam, mentoring.

Liam squinted at her through his one good eye.  “You didn’t say Donohoe had somebody with him.”

“He didn’t.”

Liam sighed and shifted carefully in a tentative attempt to sit upright.  His head didn’t fall off so he was more patient than he might have been.  “Look, Prince, you’ve obviously discovered some new evidence that you think is important, and any other time I’d be willing to let you lead me to it a piece at a time, but I’ve just been sucker-punched by an unknown assailant, I’m sitting here with a lump on my head the size of Denali, I’ve just lost my breakfast and most of last night’s dinner, I can only see out of one eye and NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GET CUTE!”

Excerpt from the second Liam Campbell novel, So Sure of Death. I’m working on the fifth book in the series now.

  1. Dear Ms Stabenow:
Can’t wait to read Spoils of the Dead. Nice that there is a teaser at the end of the kindle book for Better to Rest. I’ve read your Kate series either 4 or 5 times and I always listen to the Audible book as I read. Marguerite Gavin’s voice portrayals are superb and the best I have heard of any mystery book reader/ performer. Your books are very compelling and my sister and I are looking forward to the next Liam Campbell book. I wish we could put an order in now, but it is too early. So glad you have the writers’ workshop, Story Knife, up and operational, though the pandemic, I fear, may have delayed on-site participation. Artistic expression by imaginative writers will help us through the next few years.
So, good luck in your writing, keep up the great work and thanks so very much for writing the next page-turner in the Liam Campbell/Wy series.
    Marie R

    • Thank you so much, Marie! I’m going to share your comment with Marguerite as I know how pleased she’ll be to hear your kind words.
