The bootlegger’s friend.
“Windsor Canadian. The bootlegger’s friend. Retail price in Anchorage, seven-fifty a bottle. Retail price in a dry village, a hundred bucks easy.”
“Yeah.” The bottle dropped to the table, next to the gun.

Enjoyed these stories. Also, I want to tell you that while I was reader Better to Rest, I had one of those ‘shriek’ moments when Liam said he’d researched ravens, and read Bernd Heinrich. Bernd was my husband’s office mate when they were grad students at UCLA, down in the basement of the Biology building (although we called him Bernie). Small world. Last place I would have expected to see his name.
Thanks, Terry. It always tickles me when I get a comment about a reference in one of the books.
So enjoyed your stories! Can’t wait to hear what happens to Kate in book 21! Can we expect it soon?
