What’s wrong with this picture?
A question I asked my editor, but only after I had made a thermal mug on Zazzle with it.
Sigh…However, FYI, I will be giving that away to some lucky fan at the Poisoned Pen on February 28, 2026. It is definitely and will forever be unique.
The promotional “asset” (don’t blame me, that’s what publishers are calling it nowadays) is all better now (see below), and you can buy the all new! and improved! thermal mug here. There’s a regular mug, too.
And at (ahem) my suggestion, they are using the Philadelphia derringer as a line break symbol.
It’ll be all black, of course, so minus the dandified foofooraw.
But still, there was a great temptation to put in a line break between every other paragraph.

Oops. I’d prefer not to wait another year for this release. Anxiously awaiting my signed copy from The Poisoned Pen. You could write nutritional values on a cereal box and make them fun, interesting and engaging. So glad the release is this month. 🤣
