An example:
“16. Before the October 19, 2025 heist in which the French crown jewels were stolen, the Louvre’s video security password was LOUVRE.”
With links. More fun and interesting stuff here. (h/t Kottke, maybe?)

Quote: “We need to knock off the paramilitary crap when it comes to law enforcement—not only for aesthetic reasons but for political and moral reasons. Dress a guy up like a cowboy and he’ll start acting like he’s in Yellowstone. Dress a public servant up like he’s at war rather than at work and war is what you’re going to get.”
Very much worth reading, because Williamson is well and articulately pissed off. And so say we all. Or we should, because see video below. (h/t The Best of Journalism)

This was a good man. Remember his name.

Musk isn’t only junking up Earth orbit, he’s trashing the flight lanes, too. (h/t The Best of Journalism)

Dana sez, I was in China in 2005. On our way to Urumqi we drove around the eastern edge of the Flaming Mountains and into a wind farm on the north side of the range that stretched for literally miles, so many turbines it was impossible to count them all. For those like our president who are mathematically challenged, this was 21 years ago. How many more do you think they’ve built since?
Then just last May I flew into Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, where the approach includes a long descent over the North Sea. It is covered with wind turbines and they stay in view for at least a full minute, long enough for me to surface from my awestruckedness to fumble out my phone and take photos. A jetliner on approach is traveling somewhere between 150-170MPH; I’ll leave it to you to do the math as to how wide that turbine field is.
If Trump gets his way the US will be the last market available for fossil fuels and the oil companies will be lobbying for government price supports because their business model will have been trashed by new technology. Hell, it already has. (John Dickerson)

Fun. (From Starfleet Command on Facebook)

Quote for the day

People are wrong to say that we have no heroes left.
Just as they have always been, they are all around us, choosing to do the right thing, no matter what. —Heather Cox Richardson

Outro…maybe time for some good old protest songs from back in the day. More here.
