More photos from my trip to the Harvey House in Belen, New Mexico.
This is what you see when you walk in the front door.

They made the carpet especially to show visitors what the counter of the lunchroom looked like. The dark gray areas are the counter and the stools. (The dining room was through the doors.)
Somehow the Belen librarians managed to scrounge up some few existing samples of the furnishings, as in the floor, the stools, the counter, and one of the silver coffee urns that Clare and the other Harvey Girls spend so much time polishing. (Two of those urns are cardboard cutouts.)
The Belen Harvey House has a ton of Fred Harvey dishware on display. This one points out what a revolution Fred brought to eating while traveling.
What a meal from home might look like.
How you might eat a Fred Harvey meal. (Also, this is the dinnerware Reyes was so snooty about.)
Launching at the Poisoned Pen on February 28, 2026.
