Ireland is so fecund it feels like a jungle. Sure, some trees drop leaves in the fall but everything else green acts like November is just an opportunity to fill in the blanks they leave behind.

Fallen trees are almost instantly covered with moss and two kinds of ivy.

A very rocky island, Ireland, and since you have to put all those rocks somewhere so the grass will grow to feed the sheep, the Irish have come up with some really beautiful methods of getting and keeping those rocks out of the way.

It’s worth the effort. As Betty MacDonald once wrote of the Pacific Northwest, this is a place where you stick a seed in the ground and step back quick before it jumps up and pokes you in the eye.

I can see why they call Ireland the Emerald Isle. Hope you are having a relaxing time.
