This will be the last of the #inmygarden posts for the year. The lilacs still look like they have mange…

…and the Geranium magnificum and the euphorbia have gone all leggy and droopy, probably in part because of the one-after-the-other fall storms that have started to blow in off the Gulf of Alaska…

…but the G. magnificum is also starting to change color, one of my favorite sights in the garden every year.

The sedum that hasn’t been chomped right down to the ground by the moose is blooming riotously, tiny little neon magenta flowers.

The Tiger lilies really busted out this year but they are taking forever to bloom and I’m afraid they aren’t going to get there before the temperatures start dropping. The Sunny After Eight lily looks like it might, though.

Last year I tossed a package of wildflower seeds into the tubs on my deck, and some of them waited until this year to bloom. Fine by me, although I have absolutely no idea what this one is.

The euphorbia begins with green leaves that immediately turn yellow, and by fall have sprouted some tiny little sedum-like red blooms. Consistency is the hobgoblin of little plants.

The globe thistles have turned purple but those tiny little spikes that are supposed to bloom…haven’t. Yet.

And saving the best for last…

…from left, the Red Rocket barberry, the Banana Cream daisies, and the Sweet Valley lilies, which I adore and I so hope will come back next year.
And of course my favorites, the Royal Sunset lilies are still going strong. Sigh…

So enjoy every picture from your garden. It’s one of my favorite activities, too. Thank you for the gift.
My pleasure!
Just LOVE your garden! Do the Royal Sunset Lilies bloom all summer? I live in So Cal – not sure how they would do here but I do have other lilies in my garden. They have one giant bloom In June or early July and that’s it for the summer!
The lilies and the daisies bloom only once, and are the last to bloom every year. The fireweed tops out before the lilies bloom. And thank you!
Thank you for sharing your garden.
Glad you’re enjoying the pictures, Karen.
Absolutely lovely. I do enjoy your garden posts. Well until next year…
Thank you!
Sorry about the lilacs, but the rest of your garden has done beautifully it appears!
Summer started late but when it got going so did the flowers. Zoooooooom!
Love your pictures! Flowers are amazing. Wonderful garden. You are lucky to live there!
Sue
