Crack! Bang! Boom!

Dea gratia, the final edit of The Harvey Girl went to my editor this week. Right here and now allow me to declare my undying gratitude to copyeditor Liz and editor Greg for their help in making it a better read all the way around. A good editor’s price is far above rubies.

Is this Cleopatra?

A marble bust discovered last December west of Alexandria, Egypt. Some say yes, it is the true face of Cleopatra VII, some say no, which is how it always rolls when they dig up something like this. They do say they think they are getting close to finding Cleopatra’s tomb, which would be great. Meanwhile, in the Eye of Isis novels Cleopatra is alive and kicking and busy thinking up new ways to put Tetisheri into harm’s way, first by commanding Tetisheri to find a stolen issue of new currency which nearly gets her murdered by Cleopatra’s brother; second by assigning her to find out who is stealing from the Royal contractors (everyone) which almost gets her fitted with a pair of Rhakotis sandals; third when investigating a kidnapping she’s nearly assassinated by a fanatic cult; and fourth and most recently puts her in a front-row seat to the Battle of Thapsis.

Life is never dull for an Eye of Isis. Put not your trust in princes.
