Beginning with the tight shot of her hands on the strings, pulling back to show who those hands belonged to, the wave of applause when the audience realizes it’s Tracy Chapman herself, that beaming smile when she hears it, the expression on Luke Combs’ face which I read as “I can’t believe I’m standing up here next to Tracy Chapman singing this song,” and above all that song, that wonderful song which if you take the music away and just read the words? Reads as one of the best poems ever written. There aren’t many perfect experiences in life but this was one of them.
