Moose in Fog is the name of my next band. (photo 6/22/25)

Quote: “Ukraine looked poised to join the West, and Israel looked poised to join the East. So what happened? Putin invaded Ukraine to stop the first movement, and Hamas and Iran’s other proxies attacked Israel to stop the second…It is all the same war.” Relatively saliva-free discussion in the comments section, too. Niiiiiice. (h/t Kottke)

Time to get loud, South Carolina. (h/t Kottke)

So you know, the tabbouleh recipe on the back of Bob’s Red Mill Bulgur bag is excellent. I substitute cilantro for parsley and I don’t add cucumber because blah.

Quote: “First, imports would be banned from January 1, 2026, under any Russian pipeline gas and LNG contracts signed during the remainder of this year.” Not quite what Vladimir Putin had in mind when he invaded Ukraine, AKA the Law of Unintended Consequences. (Reuters, bwo Fix the News)

Quote for the day:

A third…candidate for Shakespearean authorship was Christopher Marlowe.  He was the right age (just two months older than Shakespeare), had the requisite talent, and would certainly have had ample leisure after 1593, assuming he wasn’t too dead to work. –Bill Bryson

  1. “..assuming he wasn’t too dead to work.”
Read this as Bruce Springsteen was RIPPING through “Born to Run”, and it was perfect. Have a day!

  2. I use Italian parsley, crispy English cucumber and a little Zatar. I can get the coarser bulgur here because we have such a large population from the Middle East. Yum . You made me want tabbouleh

  3. Mr. Friedman seems to not understand that Trump, Putin and Netanyahu are all cut from the same cloth. They are corrupt and want to be absolute dictators.
