Owls in towels. You’re welcome. (h/t Kottke)

James Fallows’ analysis of the speech here. But watch it first.

The best documentary of my music ever made. Interesting to hear what the Wrecking Crew thought of Brian Wilson (1942-2025), too.

Quote: “The decision to reduce flights is being driven by a sharp drop in bookings, rising concerns among European travelers about safety and border restrictions, and growing political discomfort tied to President Donald Trump’s second term.” (h/t Kottke)

And ICYMI, congratulations to Tessa Hulls, 2022 Storyknife Alum, for winning the 2025 Pulitzer Prize in Memoir! Which book she finished at–ahem–Storyknife. We are proud to bask in her reflected glory.

Quote for the day:

It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it. –Terry Pratchett

    • Saw it first at the Homer Documentary Film Festival some years ago. It’s no wonder how great that music is with studio musicians of that caliber backing it.
