Bidding closes at 7:30pm Alaska time tonight!

Alert readers will recall from the March Roadhouse Report that Marc Cameron and I are the designated performing seals for this year’s Beyond the Stacks fundraiser in Anchorage on April 13th.

And looky here! Their online auction is live! Nice way to score cool stuff like airline tickets and Alaska vacation packages and art and lots of books (and a bunch of wine, what’s up with that?), while at the same time support public libraries. Click through here to browse and bid.

(I’ve already placed my bids, and no, I’m not telling you on which items.)

And then, not that I’m being pushy or anything, there’s this:

First editions of the omnibus version of Silk and Song, my trilogy about Marco Polo’s granddaughter traveling the Silk Road west from China to England in 1323, and first editions of the first three Eye of Isis novels, my series set in Alexandria in the time of Cleopatra.

Of special note: That edition of Silk and Song includes a fabulous dragon on the spine

and that first edition of “Death of an Eye” includes something my publisher would rather it didn’t–a misprinted cover that shows only the art and a blurb but no name or title. They only printed a few of them and then shipped them by mistake (oops) and the bookstore where they ended up asked me if I wanted them. Yes, I did, and now you can have one of them for your very own.

Bidding closes 12 hours from this post!

The library is what keeps us a step ahead of the apes.
