I’m not a big believer in polls. They’re wrong as often as they are right. But this year they’ve been pretty consistent in showing that the Democrats are going to take back the House of Representatives, by how big a margin no one knows.

I’m okay with that, because the current House has not exerted themselves to check or balance the current president and he could use some brakes. I haven’t gotten out of Safeway for under $60 in months and I don’t even pause in the meat aisle anymore. So brakes is what I’m looking for.

Bill Hill is an Independent, self-employed, commercial fisherman, contractor, teacher and school administrator, and like Mary and JKT he’s a born Alaskan. I’ve heard him speak and he sounds familiar, like anyone I grew up with in Seldovia would talk. He speaks my language, I guess.

And I’m pretty sure Bill knows where the brake pedal is. I’m willing to give him a chance to show me he does, so he’s got my vote.
